Rooms and availability
In the Room
Great place to relax. Enjoyed the food, and my husband said the beer was well kept and good.
Alot of stairs, narrow and could be difficult for the less able.
They used powdered custard with my desert - it was too sweet.
Exceptional Beers, friendly staff and excellent rooms
Staff were very warm and welcoming, happy to help with anything, great value for money the room was excellet provided me witheverything I need.
It's location, it's very near the borders of Thetford Forrest about a 30-40 min walk away from the hotel.
Some of the facilities in the room could have been a little bit better, however, the service from the staff more than made up for this as the landlady gave us a lift back to the station when we couldn't get a taxi. This is very friendly behaviour, something we're not accustomed to living in London.
Friendly service, attached to a nice pub and well appointed comfortable room. Good breakfast, overall good value.
A good £20 taxi fare away from Thetford, that's if you can get hold of a taxi at night time in these parts. This is no reflection on the hotel, just a location issue if you need to get out of the village.
Nice hotel/pub. Staff friendly and helpful. Food Good. Easy to find. Comfortable and a bit quirky as room location scattered surrounding building making it interesting. Very clean and homely.
A clock radio would have been good in the room.
Friendly staff, (answered questions well when asked) comfortable room, filling breakfast. Ideal for families.
Not sure where the reception was, and if there was one, Went to the bar to get key. Did not know where to leave the key at the end of the stay - took it to the restaurant/breakfast room at the end. Needed directions within the room, as to where the breakfast room entrance is.
Comfortable, quiet, nice village setting, great food & service
Convenient location in a pleasant village. Good restaurant. Good value
Room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast was very good and they did a lovely range of evening meals.
Only down side was that no one cleaned our room the 3 days we stayed, so the tea and coffee supplies werent replenished.
We stayed at the Crown for a visit to see family in Lakenheath so the location was ideal for us with only a twenty minute drive away. The village of Mundford is very quiet and peacefull with hardly any traffic at all around the area of the hotel so that was good. The room we stayed in was a good size, comfortable and clean. There is a good outdoor area in the gardens to sit and relax with a good pint of real ale. The best part of our stay was the food served in the good sized restaurant. The food was cooked to perfection on both nights we stayed plus it was one of the best breakfasts i have ever had in a hotel, bacon and sausages were superb!!
We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and walked into the hotel to check in to find no reception area but a crowded bar and no bar staff to help us so we found this to be a problem as we had to wait a while for someone to see us. Our rooms were in the adjacent coach house so it was a bit noisy when it was kicking out time in the pub on Saturday evening. The hotel and guest rooms are crying out for a bit of TLC if only to smarten up the appearance a little but overall it is was a kind of place that grew on you and overall we enjoyed our stay at the Crown.
We had a great room and the meal was really excellent. We ended up eating too much!
The family room had a separate room for our son which was brilliant. Lots of space and travel cots set up when we arrived which really helped.
The food was excellent choice on them menu and always served realy well. plenty to choose from easy to travel from out to other places
the rooms were immaceley clean but the beds were so lumpy hard and uncomfotablei i stayed 3 nites and didnt sleep one nite which was a shame as the room ws lovely shame about the beds, i did mention it on several occasions but didnt like to kepp complianing i would not stay here again for the bed reason only but may suit others nice people nice food clean
